About Dirk
A former business executive with more than 25 years of experience across finance, law, operations and management, now teaching the next generation of leaders.

Dirk Roskam is an Assistant Professor of Management at The Citadel's Baker School of Business in Charleston, South Carolina, and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Clemson University.
Before the classroom, he spent more than 25 years in business. His work spanned CxO roles, advisory work and board seats with for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Much of it centered on corporate turnarounds and startup strategy, and he has advised and counseled more than 500 startup organizations. His areas of expertise include executive leadership, transformation, international operations, capitalization, finance, corporate law, human resources and strategy for high-growth firms.
In the classroom
At The Citadel he teaches Organizational Behavior, Business Ethics, Strategy, Global Business Strategy, and Technology and Entrepreneurship. At Clemson he has taught Principles of Management (including the Honors section), management consulting, business strategy, negotiations in sports business, and an Honors course on Disney as a global organization. Many of those courses he designed from scratch.
At Clemson he helped build the Management Consulting Initiative, where students work real engagements with partner firms. The program grew from 30 to 54 students and from 5 to 8 professional service firm partners, and it is now the model for the Clemson Management Consulting Signature Program. Its graduating seniors have reached 100% full-time employment.
